History comes alive with modern technology
Reconstruction of the brewery in Kralupy nad Vltavou/Czech Republic
We are very proud to announce the completion of one of our most significant and technically demanding projects in recent times. Ventiair has become a key supplier of ventilation technology for the extensive renovation of the historic brewery in Kralupy nad Vltavou in the Czech Republic.
This iconic building has been transformed into a modern multipurpose cultural and social centre, breathing new life into the old walls.
One place, many functions – one challenge for HVAC
The brewery conversion project was unique in its diversity. Our task was to ensure an optimal indoor climate for spaces with diametrically different ventilation requirements:
Halls for cultural events: High demands on air exchange volume while maintaining absolute silence.
Elementary art school: Fresh air for young talents to concentrate.
Municipal library: Stable climate protecting book collections.
Restaurant and café: Effective odour extraction and thermal comfort for guests.
To cover the needs of the entire complex, we supplied a total of 30 complete heat recovery units of our own production. The choice fell on proven model series that excel in high efficiency and compact dimensions:
T-type: Vertical units ideal for technical rooms with limited space.
K-type: Compact solution with a high degree of heat recovery.
S-type: Ceiling-mounted units that allowed us to install them even where there was no space for a conventional machine room.
Respect for tradition, demands for modernity
The construction was extremely challenging, mainly due to the requirement to preserve the historical character of the building. Installing modern ventilation technology in a building with original vaults and specific architecture required:
1. Individual approach: The designs of the units in the Ventiair program were modified to fit precisely into the designated spaces.
2. Discretion: All systems were designed so as not to disrupt the aesthetics of the historic halls and exterior.
3. Acoustic solutions: Due to the operation of the art school and library, extreme emphasis was placed on eliminating noise and vibrations.
A result that makes sense.
Thanks to close cooperation with designers and conservationists, we have succeeded in creating a space where people feel good not only because of the beautiful surroundings, but also because of the healthy and clean air. The renovation of the Kralupy brewery is proof that even the most modern energy optimization technologies can be successfully integrated into buildings with a rich history.
